This was a decking area, but too damp/slippery for this location.

A solid raised area of paving should be more useable.

Deck boards and joists have been reclaimed to use for fencing.

Paving is laid onto a mortar bedding .

Deck board fencing is attached.

All paving has been laid, windbreak panel added.

This area should now be more welcoming, even when the west wind is blowing across the Derwent valley, hence the need for the windbreak panelling.
